WILMINGTON, MA — The American Ambulance Association’s Stars of Life program celebrates the contributions of ambulance professionals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to their communities or the EMS profession. Stars of Life recognizes the dedication of these heroes while shining light on the critical role EMS plays in our health care infrastructure.

Wilmington’s Action Ambulance Services has two employees being honored with Stars of Life this year:

Damon Chilinski

Damon is a true leader on all calls, whether they be calls with critical patients or that involve less critical patients. His never-ending desire to continually learn and teach, to be a part of open and constructive professional conversation and most importantly that he truly epitomizes the lead by example approach. Damon is a highly respected clinician who has a no nonsense, yet truly fun approach to our profession and makes working with him an overall excellent experience with many significantly positive impacts to his patients. Kristen Hunter

Kristen is an EMT with Action Ambulance Service in Wilmington MA. She has been in EMS for over 25 years and has been with Action since 2008. With a Firefighter father and Registered Nurse mother, the medical field is in her blood. “For me, the best part of my job is knowing you can make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s just holding their hand so they know they aren’t alone.” is Kristen’s outlook on her job in EMS. Kristen is a kind caring person and she comes into work with a great spirit and attitude. Her patient care is great and she is very compassionate with the patients in her care. Kristen is always willing to help out and cover shifts. Even after a day of heavy call volume, her attitude and care for patient does not change. Action Ambulance considers itself lucky to have had her as part of the Action family for so many years.
