POLICE LOG for March 5: Amazon Protest; School Bus Involved In Crash; Disabled Truck Causes Slippery Road

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, March 5, 2020:
  • A caller reported something was spilled at Lowell Street and Main Street that caused vehicles to slide. Police responded and identified disabled truck leaking fluid. Truck towed. Mass Highway notified and sanded effected area. (9:44am)
  • A caller reported approximately 20 vehicles were parked on the roadway and blocking entrance with people protesting a construction site on Fordham Road. Police responded and spoke with construction company and union rep. All agreed to cease at this time. (10:24am)
  • A 3-vehicle crash with airbag deployment took place on 93 South Exit 38 ramp. State Police handled scene. (10:55am)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on Main Street involving a school bus with students on board. No injuries. (2:46pm)
  • A Royal Street caller reported some type of alarm was sounding in the area. Police responded. Alarm was a toy siren in an unlocked shed belonging to a Royal Street home. Police shut off alarm. (11:30pm)
