WILMINGTON, MA — In an email to parents on Friday night, Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand announced that Wilmington Middle School Alexander Phillips is “out on a leave of absence.”
Brand has appointed Assistant Principal Dr. Jeanette Quirk as the school’s Interim Principal in Phillips’s absence.
“I will work closely with my team in the coming days to identify exactly what is necessary to support Dr. Quick, [Assistant Principal] Mr. Faircloth, and the entire staff at WMS during this time,” wrote Brand.
Brand did not disclose any further details surrounding the leave of absence.
Phillips has been Principal of Wilmington Middle School for the past 8 months — he was hired last March and began his tenure on July 1, 2019. He came to Wilmington from the Suder Montessori Magnet Elementary School (K-8) in Chicago, where he served as Principal since 2012.
