Wilmington Democratic Town Committee Welcomed Congressional Candidate Jamie Zahlaway Belsito

Below is a press release from the campaign of Jamie Zahlaway Belsito:

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Democratic Town Committee recently hosted Candidate for the 6th Congressional District, Jamie Zahlaway Belsito. Belsito discussed the issues in the 6th district that Congress has failed to prioritize.

“As we see right here in Wilmington, public K-12 struggles with funding. Our college-age population is overwhelmed by the cost of a degree,” said Belsito. “We are seeing food insecurity and homelessness among our public university student populations in Massachusetts. Congress has to do a better job.”

“The 6th Congressional District is facing serious challenges and our residents, and families, deserve a leader who wants to be here and represent the needs of all,” she added. “I am committed to representing the hard-working people of the district where I live and where I grew up.”

Jamie has been fighting for progressive policies on issues from women’s rights to increased education opportunities and has been a consistent voice for the underrepresented her entire career. She has been a leader for our district and will continue working to ensure that the residents, and families, of our communities are put first once again.

The Democratic Primary Election takes place Tuesday, September 1, 2020. To learn more about Jamie Zahlaway Belsito’s campaign, go to www.BelsitoforCongress.com.
