Wilmington Community Fund To Benefit From ‘Stop & Shop Community Bag Program’ This February

The below announcement is from the Wilmington Community Fund:

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Community Fund has been selected as the beneficiary of the Stop and Shop Community Bag Program!

Each time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Woburn Stop & Shop (2 Elm Street) during the month of February, the Wilmington Community Fund will receive a $1 donation.

The Wilmington Community Fund is a volunteer organization who are “People helping People” of Wilmington since 1945. Its services include:

  • The Food Pantry | Supplies supplemental food on a bimonthly basis. Currently there are more than 85 families participating in this program and that number increases each week as more eligible families sign up. Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas foods are packed and distributed with the monthly food pickup.
  • Emergency Relief Assistance | Direct assistance with heat, light or utilities for those who have become victims of tough times.
  • Holidays | Annual effort to coordinate the generosity of many groups and individuals to provide festive holidays for many Wilmington children and their families.
  • Scholarship Program | Provide scholarships to local students who have exhibited service to the people in our community.
