POLICE LOG for January 8: Roofing Contractor Running A Scam?; Social Security Scam Call

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Wednesday, January 8, 2020:
  • An individual told police they hired a contractor to do roof work in April. After giving deposit, no work has started and no correspondence has taken place for six months. (11:42am)
  • A Federal Street caller reported a scam call that stated her social security was being turned off. (3:12pm)
  • A Crest Avenue caller was concerned his daughter hadn’t show up or made contact. Dispatch made contact with the daughter, who contacted her father. (10:05pm)
  • During check of cemetery, police noted some items on grave sites had been displaced due to the wind. (10:27pm)
