STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: 4 Wilmington Students Graduate From Endicott College

BEVERLY, MA — Endicott College, the first college in the U.S. to require internships of its students, held its 79th annual commencement exercise recently.

At a May 25 ceremony for Endicott’s undergraduate students of Hempstead Stadium on the Endicott campus in Beverly, the commencement speaker was Garold C. Miller, chief executive officer of HAL, who received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at the ceremony.

Four Wilmington students graduated:

  • Kimberly Browns, graduated with a Bachelor Science in Marketing Communications, daughter of Donna Downs
  • Tierney McCue, graduated with a Bachelor Science in Biology/Biotechnology, daughter of David McCue and Tracy McCue
  • Michelle Murray, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, daughter of Fred Murray and Sue Murray
  • Jullian Warren, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History, daughter of Robert Warren and Karen Warren

Miller advised the class of 2019, “Your lease on life doesn’t last forever. Take chances. Take calculated risks.” He added, “I’ve heard ‘no’ hundreds and hundreds of times, but I refused to believe that the things I had built had to be like things that already existed. Society has enough conformists. We need more people who don’t give up when they hear ‘no’.”

A total of 1,135 students graduated from Endicott’s Van Loan School of Graduate and Professional Studies and its traditional undergraduate college. 10 students received a Doctor of Educational Leadership or Doctor of Philosophy; 349 received a Master of Arts, Master of Education, Master of Science, Master of Business Administration or Master of Fine Arts degree; 760 students received a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree; and 16 received an Associate in Arts or Associates in Science degree.
