Wilmington Police To Participate In “No Shave November,” Raise Funds For Veterans

WILMINGTON, MA — Chief Michael Begonis is pleased to announce that officers from the Wilmington Police Department are participating in “No Shave November” to support Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program. The mission of Home Base is to heal the invisible wounds for Veterans, Service Members and their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research.

Participating officers will pledge $100 to forgo the usual shaving requirements to bring awareness and break the stigma associated with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and other invisible wounds of war. Follow the Police Department on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram as they document the growing of the beards!

In 2017, over $128,000 was raised for Home Base and the Wilmington Police Department is proud to support this cause. For more information about Home Base visit http://www.homebase.org/.
