STATE REP RACE: Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson Endorses Pina Prinzivalli

TEWKSBURY, MA — Below is a press release from the campaign of 19th Middlesex State Representative candidate Pina Prinzivalli (R-Tewksbury):

Today, Pina Prinzivalli, the Republican nominee for State Representative in the 19th Middlesex, announced she has received the endorsement of Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson.

“I’m honored to have earned Sheriff Hodgson’s support,” said Prinzivalli. ”For years Sheriff Hodgson has worked to keep the people of the Commonwealth safe. The Sheriff has earned national respect and recognition for his commitment to taking dangerous criminals off of our streets, including those who are here illegally.”

“Pina is someone who gets it and will deliver for the people in her district,” said Sheriff Hodgson, who has served as Sheriff since 1997. “Pina’s platform of supporting law enforcement and agencies like ICE and opposing Sanctuary Cities is so important to her community given it’s close proximity to Lawrence. The people of Tewksbury and Wilmington can count on Pina to stand up for what is right and protect the working relationships that exist between law enforcement.”

In an interview with the Wilmington Apple on July 4th of this year, David Robertson (D- Tewksbury), called U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “disgraceful.” He went on to say that he believes too much time is spent concentrating on those who are already here. The comment was made just weeks after ICE issued a detainer for an illegal immigrant who was arrested by Tewksbury police for drug trafficking.

“My opponent is completely out of touch when it comes to ICE and their important role in making our towns a safer place to live, work and raise a family,” said Prinzivalli. “The reality is our district is right down the street from a sanctuary city. The 495 & 93 interchange is one of the hottest drug spots in the Merrimack Valley. We’re in the middle of an opioid epidemic that has gripped both Tewksbury and Wilmington. To call a law enforcement agency that is taking dangerous criminals off of our streets ‘disgraceful’ is wrong and frankly, unbecoming of anyone who is seeking to hold public office.”

On October 4th, ICE announced a successful sweep in and around Lawrence. The multi agency federal investigation resulted in 40 arrests, many of whom were here illegally and previously deported from the country, along with the seizure of 10 kilograms of deadly fentanyl.

Prinzivalli is the only candidate in the 19th Middlesex District to declare that she will vote “NO” on Massachusetts becoming a Sanctuary State. She has earned the endorsements of Representatives Geoff Diehl, Shaunna O’Connell and Jim Lyons.

  1. Supporting law enforcement? I didn’t see her at May’s Town Meeting when the people approved a budget that included funds 2 officers, which also result in a posting for the position of detective in the battle and the drug dealers profiting in the opioid crisis. She has also opposed Into Action Recovery and the way Rep Miceli secures by the supplemental budget process. Lastly the Police Unions Into Tewksbury and Wilmington have endorsed Dave Robertson for State Representative. Her actions have spoke louder than her words.

  2. George, a neighbor who lives in the area of the amazing sober home in Tewksbury said that PINA was going door to door saying if you vote for me I will close the house down. She has ZERO class, she is a puppet!

  3. Isn’t this the Sheriff who wanted to force prisoners from MA to go to our southern border and build the wall? I am pro-wall but I am anti-slave labor. ZERO surprise this whackadoo supports Pina. Birds of a feather…
