On Tuesday, September 4, after I enjoyed that last gasps of summer, I am going to walk to my local polling precinct and cast a vote for Dave Robertson to be our next State Representative!
You may know, Dave is well educated having attended UMass Amherst and has worked at the State House for the last 10 years as Jim Miceli’s Intern, Legislative Aide, and Chief of Staff. While those are excellent reasons to cast my vote for Dave, that is not my motivation. What is motivating me to vote for Dave is that he is a man of integrity. Integrity is defined as a “quality of being honest and having strong moral principles,” which is a trait that is LACKING and NEEDED at the State House.
I have come to know Dave as a State House Aide and as a person. He understands the politics of the statehouse but has not become seduced by the lure of false pretenses to push personal agendas. He works smart and tirelessly to get his points across and get the job done. While some may think Dave is a unassuming, I can assure this is not true. I have seen Dave in action. More importantly, I have seen Dave listen and react to residents concerns; addressing the needs of the community at large while taking care of the individual. In the words of Roosevelt…”speak softly and carry a big stick.” That is the Dave I know! That’s the man who should be the next State Representative for Tewksbury and Wilmington.
