WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Sunday, August 26, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

In The Community: Wilmington Community Television (WCTV) is holding its annual Family Fun Day from 11am to 2pm at Yentile Farm Recreational Facility (9 Cross Street). This event is FREE for Wilmington families. Come on down to enjoy some music, food, and demonstrations from local dancers, martial arts and public safety. This is also an opportunity to check out WCTV equipment and meet our staff, including our new Youth Director Marty McCue!

In The Community: The Wilmington Farmers Market continues its season from 10am to 1pm on the Swain Green (across from the Town Common). See this week’s lineup HERE. April Renzella is performing live music.

Deadline: Wilmington Pop Warner is holding a drawing for a New England Patriots All-Pro VIP Tailgate Package, which includes a pair of tickets to EACH 2018 regular season home game along with parking and the pre and post-game celebrity tailgate. For package details, visit http://www.patriotstailgate.com. Tickets cost $100 each. Only 250 will be sold. Winner will be drawn on Sunday, August 26. (Need not be present to win.) In The Community: The Friends of Wilmington Hockey will hold its 1st Annual Drop The Puck fundraiser from 4pm to 8pm at the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks (777 South Street). The event includes a street hockey tournament fundraiser, which begins at 5pm. The evening will include games, prizes, music and a cash bar. In The CommunityThe Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.

MBTA Reminder: There will be no weekend commuter rail service on the Lowell Line (Wilmington Center) until December. A free shuttle bus will be available. Learn more HERE.
