STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Wilmington’s Heather Trites Inducted In International Honor Society For Sociology

BOSTON, MA — Emmanuel College student Heather Trites of Wilmington was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international honor society for sociology, on Thursday, April 26.

The purpose of Alpha Kappa Delta is to seek to acknowledge and promote excellence in the scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

To be eligible for membership, students must be an officially declared sociology major or demonstrate a serious interest in sociology within an official program, at least a junior, rank in the top 35 percent of their graduating class in general scholarship, have the equivalent of a 3.0 GPA in sociology courses and have completed at least four courses in sociology prior to initiation.
