LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Peterson Has “Proven Himself To Be Personally & Ethically Above Reproach”

Dear Editor,

On Saturday April 28th, the Town of Wilmington will be holding the Annual Town Elections, a week prior to the Annual Town Meeting on Saturday May 5th. One of those elected contests is for the position of Town Moderator.

The primary job of the Town Moderator is to manage the business of the Annual Town Meeting efficiently, fairly and without bias. The individual must be articulate, respectful, and organized, with a thorough understanding of Roberts Rules of Order.

Rob Peterson has filled that role admirably for the past three years. He has fulfilled all of the requirements of that position with decorum and an understanding of the process. Whether or not you agree with an expenditure or a specific article on the warrant, Rob will provide an individual the opportunity to express a viewpoint, question the proponent of an article, and moderate courteous and civil discourse as the process requires.

I have know Rob personally for about seven years and I can think of very few young professionals or family people who have donated as much time and talent to organizations and causes that help to make Wilmington a better place to live. He has proven himself to be personally and ethically above reproach.

Although Town Meeting is open to all registered voters, the reality is that Saturday May 5th is likely to be a busy day for many families. Perhaps it will even be a nice day outside! Please consider those who will be an attendance that day, giving up their time, serving your Community. Please get out to support and elect Rob Peterson for the position of Town Moderator on Election Day, Saturday April 28th, hoping for a fair, respectful and expeditious Town Meeting.

Chris Neville
