WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Saturday, February 17, 2018:
Weather: Increasing clouds, with a high near 35. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable. At night, snow, mainly after 8pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 28. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
In The Community: The Commerford Fun Fair returns to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) during February vacation. The Fair will be open on Saturday, February 17 (10am-7pm); Sunday, February 18 (10am-6pm); and Monday, February 19 (10am-6pm). The fair promises a “fun, friendly, and safe place to bring your family, with rides, games and a unique chance to interact with exotic animals.” Attractions include petting zoos, animal rides, kiddie rides, games, face painting, and souvenirs. Children 12 and under are free with a coupon. (One free child per paying adult.) Coupons are available at local businesses and at the front box office during the event. Otherwise, admission costs $16 at the door. Please note that rides and other vendors inside cost EXTRA (e.g., animal rides cost 5 tickets, kiddie rides cost 2 tickets, tickets cost $1.50 each, with discounted tickets by purchasing “value packs.”)
In The Community: 6th, 7th and 8th grade students living in Wilmington are invited to join the Wilmington Youth Center and enjoy being part of a community that offers a safe place to hang out with your friends and have fun! The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), will be open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 25, 2017 to March 17, 2018. In The Community: The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less! Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Go Wildcats!: The WHS Varsity Boys Hockey team hosts Chelmsford at Ristuccia at noon. The WHS Varsity Girls Hockey team travels to Watertown at John Ryan Arena at 12:20pm. WHS wrestlers will be competing at the Division III State Tournament.
