WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Tuesday, January 16, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: A slight chance of snow before 1pm, then a slight chance of snow after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

At Wilmington Public Schools: Wilmington Public Schools and the Office of Student Support Services invites parents to an important presentation, “The Secret Lives of Teens,” from 7pm to 8:30pm, in the Wilmington High School Auditorium. Admission is FREE and intended for adults only.

Learn what your teens are really thinking and how you can support them.

Do you wonder… What teens are really thinking? Why they don’t share their fears? How we can better support teens? How we can become better parents?

Parents will leave the workshop with strategies they can implement immediately, new ways of understanding teens, innovative techniques for engaging teens, confidence, courage, and new language.

The presentation will be led by Jon Mattleman, a mental health counselor and trainer with 30 years of experience working with youth, parents and families. In 1993, he established Youth/Family Resources, a consulting firm focused on overcoming personal barriers and building healthy relationships.

The presentation was funded through a grant by CHNA 15, and was made possible by Determination of Need funds received from Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and Winchester Hospital.

At Wilmington Public Schools: The Wilmington Superintendent Search Screening Committee meets at 6pm in the WHS Library and WHS Room 1016-11. Much of the meeting will take place in Executive Session. Read the agenda HERE.

At Town Hall: The Metro North Regional Housing Services Office Housing Coordinator, Laurie Stanton, will be holding office hours to assist residents with their affordable housing questions.  Laurie will be available in the Small Conference Room at Wilmington Town Hall from 9am to 11am.

At Town Hall: The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm in Town Hall’s Room 9. Read the agenda HERE.

In The Community: The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

In The Community: Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones. A luncheon is served as noon.  Free. Handicapped accessible.

Live Music: Larry Gilbert performs at Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) beginning at 6pm.

At The Library: Tranquil Tuesdays with Brad at 9:15am. Family Movie Night: My Little Pony at 6:30pm. … The Wilmington Board of Library Trustees meets at 7pm in the Library’s Banda Room. Read the agenda HERE. [Learn more and register HERE.]

At The Senior Center: Computer Class at 9:30am. Aerobics at 10:30am. Mah Jongg at 1pm.  [Learn more HERE.]

Go Wildcats!: The WHS Boys JV Hockey Team battles Methuen at 4:30pm at Methuen High.
