OBITUARY: Marlene T. (Palladino) Ross, Ph.D., 74

LYNN, MA — Marlene T. (Palladino) Ross, Ph.D., 74, of Springfield, Oregon, formerly of Wilmington, MA passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on November 4, 2017.

Marlene was born in Lynn to the late Charles and Florence (Smith) Palladino. She grew up in Lynnfield and then lived in Wilmington for more than 40 years until moving to Springfield, Oregon for the past five years. She was the beloved wife of Glen “Dale” Ross Jr. with whom she spent 46 years of marriage. Marlene graduated from the Newton College of the Sacred Heart, and then obtained her Doctorate Degree from Middlebury College. She was a foreign language teacher for over 40 years at Wilmington High School, and also spent time oversees in China teaching English to children. Marlene was very active in St. Alice Church in Springfield, OR, as a Eucharistic Minister, and also brought communion to homes and assisted living facilities to those who could not attend church services.

Marlene is survived by her husband Glen “Dale” Ross Jr. of Springfield, OR, son Charlie Ross and his wife Jazz of Marlborough, MA, daughter Christie Ross of Springfield, OR, her mother in law Rose Ross of Springfield, OR, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her twin sister Charlene Palladino, and her father in law Glen Ross Sr.

Marlene’s funeral will be held at 11AM on Saturday November 18, 2017 at St. Pius V Church, Lynn, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 9-10:30 AM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn, MA 01904. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
