WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Thursday, October 26, 2017:

In The News:

CONGRATS to Wilmington’s very own LaRosa’s restaurant (211 Main Street) for being named by CBS Boston as one of the best unique soup spots in and around Boston.

Happening Today:

Weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. West wind 5 to 8 mph.

Traffic Advisory: Butters Row Bridge will be closed through November 10. The MassDOT are repairing damaged bridge timber deck planks and timber stringers. Work will take place daily from 7am to 7pm. Detour routes are posted HERE.

Fall Yardwaste: The Town will collect leaves and grass clippings placed in biodegradable paper bags or uncovered barrels at curbside on regular trash collection days over the next five weeks.

Live Music: Larry Gilbert performs at Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) beginning at 6pm. Pianist Ricky Lauria performs at Tremezzo (2 Lowell Street) beginning at 8pm.

On WCTV: The station is aware of the audio issues that have cropped up over the past three live Selectmen meetings. They’re working on a fix.

In The Schools: Open House for Grade 8 parents is taking place at Wilmington High School from 6:30pm to 9pm…. Wilmington SEPAC is holding its Parent/Caregiver Support Group Meeting at 8:30am at Panera Bread…. Wildwood PAC is holding its Halloween Party at 6:30pm.

Go Wildcats!: 9 Wilmington High teams are in action today, including a home meet against Melrose at 3:30pm for the Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams. [See the complete schedule HERE.]
