WILMINGTON, MA — James R. “Richie” Walker, age 89, of Bedford, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 8, 2017.
Richie was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Godfrey) Walker, devoted father of Susan Charest & her husband Richard of Haverhill, Pamela O’Brien & her fiancé Peter Klasner of Wells, ME and Barbara O’Connor & her husband James, loving “Grampy” of Melissa Silva & her husband Richard, Daniel Savoie & his fiancée Kate Coburn, Shauna O’Brien, Molly O’Brien, Walker O’Connor and Cole O’Connor, great-grandfather of Dean and Eva Silva, cherished son of the late Everett and Margaret (Burr) Walker, dear brother of the late Paul Walker, Barbara Duffy and Mary Jane McLaughlin. Richie is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Walker, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, October 12th at 9:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Veterans Section of Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
