WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, September 23, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly cloudy in Wilmington, then gradual clearing during the afternoon, with a high near 78. North wind around 6 mph.
#2) The Wilmington Memorial Library is hosting its seventh annual Shredding Day from 9am to noon in the Wilmington Town Common Parking Lot. The event is free of charge to residents. Two shredding trucks will be on hand to handle the volume. The event is meant for households. The library reserves the right to limit the amount of shredding due to wait time or truck space. Paper clips, rubber bands, and staples do NOT need to be removed. It’s important to note that the Wilmington Community Fund, which runs the Wilmington Food Pantry, is subsidizing the cost of the shredding trucks. As a result, the library is encouraging all participants to bring nonperishable food items to the event. All donations will be given to the Food Pantry.
#3) The Wilmington Conservation Commission invites residents of all ages to share a few hours of their time and participate in the Annual Town Clean-Up Day from 8am to noon. The Conservation Commission is seeking volunteers to help beautify Wilmington’s conservation lands by removing litter and debris. Volunteers are asked to meet at the DPW Building (135 Andover Street) at 8am. Refreshments will be served and trash bags will be provided. Work gloves will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Please dress appropriately for woods and wetlands.
