5th Annual Sean Collier Cornhole Tournament Set For September 17

CAMBRIDGE, MA — MIT Police and event organizer Detective Loren Montgomery recently announced that the fifth annual Sean Collier Cornhole Tournament will take place on Sunday, September 17, 11:30am to 7:30pm, at MIT’s Briggs Field (250 Vassar St., Cambridge).  The event is open to all.

Below is a message posted on the fundraiser’s Eventbrite page:

“Please join the MIT Police Department again for the ‘5th and Final’ Cornhole Tournament as we gather to honor and remember our fallen brother Officer Sean Collier who was killed in the line of duty on April 18, 2013. As always there will be Cornhole with cash prizes, bouncy houses, food, raffles, game trucks, music, and more. All of the money raised will go to the Sean A. Collier Police Fund which annually sponsors a recruit at the Lowell Police Academy in Sean’s name. Sean sponsored himself through the Transit Academy and we know he would love to give another the same opportunity. There will be fun for the whole family! The past 4 tournaments have been more successful than we could have imagined. We hope to see you all for one last HOORAH!  As a ‘Thank You’ to everyone for supporting us, EACH registered team will receive a ‘party cup’ and a ‘Collier Strong’ bracelet!”

Teams of two can enter for $50. General admission is only $5. Purchase your tickets — or make a donation — HERE.
