WILMINGTON, MA — Robert D. Anderson, “Bob”, age 84, a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
Robert was born and raised in Everett, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Robert and Eliza (Palmer) Anderson.
Bob enlisted in the U. S. Army on December 12, 1952, during the Korean War. Bob served as a Corporal with C Battery 16th AAA Gun Battalion; earning the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from active service on December 12, 1954 and further served the county in the Army Reserves.
Bob was the beloved husband of the late Ellen F. (Coughlin) Anderson for over 51 years, before her passing in April of 2011. He is survived by his dear friends and neighbors Michael and Maureen Gaglione, their children Michelle O’Donohue, Michael Gaglione III and Marc Gaglione and their families.
Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Service on Wednesday, June 14th at 11:00 a.m. in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA.
Memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
