WILMINGTON, MA — For the fourth consecutive year, Wilmington firefighters will be shaving their heads to raise money for childhood cancer research on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 1pm to 4pm, at Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street).
Members of Wilmington Firefighters Local 1370 are holding the “Brave A Shave” event in honor of three Wilmington kids who have beaten cancer — 13-year-old Anthony N., 13-year-old Daniel C., and 7-year-old David M.
Proceeds will benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity which funds research to find cures for childhood cancers. Th event has raised more than $52,000 over its first three years.
Wilmington residents are invited to make online donations HERE. More than $3,200 has already been pledged towards this year’s event.
