WHS SOFTBALL: Wildcats Improve To 10-4, Qualify For Playoffs With Dominant Performance

WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball team defeated Watertown High, 7-0, on Wednesday, May 17 at Town Park.  With the victory, the Wildcats have qualified for the state tournament.

Ally Moran pitched a complete game shut-out for the Wildcats, striking out 10 in the superb effort.

Wilmington got the scoring in the second inning with three runs thanks to an RBI double from Ally Moran double and an RBI single from Ryan Bailey.  Wilmington then got four more runs in the fifth inning.  The inning began with a Dana Goulet bunt single.  Shannon Horgan then crushed a 2-home run homer to left center.  After a walk to Antonia Kieran, the scoring continued with an RBI triple from Liz Gordon and another RBI single from Ryan Bailey.

The game served as a fundraiser for ‘Go 4 The Goal’ in support of curing pediatric cancer The Wildcats wore yellow laces with their cleats.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats (10-4) next play Winchester High on Monday, May 22 at 6pm at Town Park.
