SCHOOL COMMITTEE NEWS: Last Day Of School Officially Announced

WILMINGTON, MA — As its meeting on Wednesday night, the Wilmington School Committee approved Friday, June 16, 2017 as the last day of school for Wilmington Public Schools for the 2016-2017 school year.

“We have used three snow days a result of inclement weather during the winter,” explained Interim Superintendent Paul Ruggiero.  “Assuming no more snow days will be necessary for the remainder of the school year, the 180th school day will be Friday, June 16, 2017.”

The last day of school will be an early release day for all grades.

As a reminder, as the School Committee previously approved in March, the first day day of the 2017-2018 school year for grades 1-12 will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017.  That means students will enjoy a 74-day summer vacation.

Kindergarteners will begin Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
