10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (April 30, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, April 30, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 59. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

#2) We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is holding its latest “Anything Drive” from 9am to noon at Villanova Hall (125 Middlesex Avenue).

Bring down your gently used clothing and household goods. Items that will be accepted include:

  • Clothing
  • Linens and household goods
  • Small appliances
  • Toys/Games
  • Box tops
  • Baby Items
  • Medical equipment
  • Books
  • Working electronics

Items collected will be distributed to Wilmington non-profit organizations, families and individuals in need. Items not matched will be brought to Lowell Wish, Mission of Deeds, or Heartbeat – all of which use WEF as a referring agency, meaning WOW can refer individuals of need to these organizations – free of charge – throughout the year.

#3) We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is also holding a meeting of its Junior Chapter at 11am at Villanova Hall (125 Middlesex Avenue).

#4) Meet sports celebrities at Rich Altman’s Sports Card & Memorabilia Boston Show, held on Friday, April 28 (noon to 7pm), Saturday, April 29 (9am to 5pm), and Sunday, April 30 (10am-4pm) at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) in Wilmington. Several past and current Patriots and Red Sox players are in town this weekend.  Learn HERE.

#5) The Middlesex Canal Association (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is holding its Annual Spring Meeting at 1pm. Speaker Susan Stetson Clarke will discuss the 50th Anniversary of the publication of the Limner’s Daughter. Learn more HERE.

#6) There is a Moving Sale at 12 Suncrest Avenue from 8am to 1pm. Learn more HERE.

#7) The Shawsheen Tech Rams Varsity Baseball Team is holding a Car Wash fundraiser from 10am to noon at the Tech (100 Cook Street, Billerica). $5 per vehicle.
