WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Thursday, April 27, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see areas of drizzle with a slight chance of rain. Areas of fog before 2pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 62. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
#2) Wilmington Public Schools is holding its First Annual Special Olympics from 9am to 1pm at Wilmington High School. The public is invited to attend and cheer on the athletes. Learn more HERE and HERE.
#3) Wilmington Public Schools will be holding its Annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Fair at the Wilmington Middle School from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be hands-on activities in earth, physical and life sciences as well as technology for students in grades K-8 in the WMS cafeteria. Community partners are also attending, such as: Pfizer, Analog, Wilmington Memorial Library, Boston Dynamic, 4F Science Pirate, Salem 5, Beyond Benign, Nick Toth, Judith and Chuck Kitchin, Janelle Vultaggio, Sergeant Fran Martino from WPD, and iRobot. The evening is co-sponsored by the Wilmington Educational Foundation, which will have a raffle table at the event.
#4) Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) is hosting live music with Larry Gilbert at 6pm.
#5) Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) is hosting live music with Joe Leary at 8pm.
#7) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding some of its typical Thursday activities:
- Art Class (10am)
- Aerobics (10:30am)
- Game Day (1pm)
