12 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (April 26, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TWELVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then a chance of rain. Patchy fog. High near 59. East wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

#2) The Wilmington School Committee meets at 7pm at Wilmington High School in the Large Instruction Room.  (An Executive Session precedes the meeting at 6:30pm. It’s possible the public session may begin before 7pm if the Executive Session is short. It’s happened before.)  Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Middle School Performing Arts Department is holding a Fundraiser at Wilmington’s Panera Bread (228 Main Street, Wilmington Plaza) from 4pm to 8pm. Bring this flyer (or show it on your phone) and a percentage of your bill will benefit the WMS Performing Arts Department.

#4) Wilmington Little League is holding its annual Pasta Dinner, from 5pm to 7pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  Tickets cost $6 and can be purchased at the door or from any Little League Board member. All Little League families are encouraged to attend as no practices or games have been scheduled for the day.  The evening’s proceeds will benefit the league’s scholarship fund.

#5) Wilmington Pop Warner is holding another Registration Night for interested football players and cheerleaders, ages 7 to 15, from 6pm to 8pm, in the Wilmington Town Hall Auditorium. Online registration and registration forms for in-person registration can be found HERE. #6) The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street will be open from 8am to 2pm for the drop-off of brush and leaves. Learn more HERE.

#7) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO programs today:

  • First Look Book Group (3pm-4pm)
  • Music and More with Bernadette Baird (6:30pm-7:15pm)

#8) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Wednesday activities:

  • SBF Exercise (9:45am)
  • Special Exercise (11am)
  • Country Line Dancing (1pm)
  • Gentle Yoga (3:45pm)

#9) The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.

#12) The Wilmington Band Parents Association is holding its Monthly Meeting at 7pm in the WHS Cafeteria.
