LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Ed Loud “Is The Right Guy For The Job”

Dear Editor,

I am writing to give a strong endorsement for Ed Loud for Selectman for the upcoming election on April 22nd.

I have had the pleasure of serving on the Yentile Farms committee with Ed since its formation in 2012.  Over the last 5 years, I have seen the hard work and dedication that Ed put forth as we worked to make the Yentile Farms Recreational Facility a reality.  At the same time, Ed also served on the Board of Appeals and on the Friends of 9 Cross Street Fundraising Committee.

Since moving to Wilmington in 1997, I have seen members of town government continue to be fiscally conservative, but progressive as it relates to the needs of our community.  Wilmington continues to have one of the best Bond Ratings in the Commonwealth and continues to offer more to the community in terms of facilities for both education and recreation.  We need strong, level headed leaders like Ed Loud, to ensure Wilmington continues its path of progress coupled with fiscal conservatism.

Ed’s stance on stabilizing taxes, halting a transfer station at the former Olin site, addressing the shortage of senior housing and the substance abuse crisis are critical to the Town of Wilmington and I am glad these are part of his platform in running for Selectman.

I am often amazed and extremely thankful for the many volunteers that contribute to town government and the many organizations in Wilmington.  Ed is certainly one of our citizens that goes above and beyond in terms of volunteer hours but also finds the balance with the responsibilities of family and work.

Ed truly cares about our community and has an established track record of working hard to make Wilmington a better place to live and raise a family.  These are, no doubt, trying times with many issues that warrant strong leadership and common sense.  Ed Loud is the right guy for the job. I would like you to join me by voting for Ed Loud for Selectman on April 22nd.

Ed Riekstins
