Adult Events

Lori Charette-McLaughlin in Song *RR
Thursday, April 20, 2:30 pm
Lori McLaughlin, music director at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Methuen, has delighted audiences with her beautiful singing voice for years.  She will perform jazz standards, music by Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and other female performers of that genre and some Broadway favorites.

Novel Ideas: Fiction Book Group *RR

Featured Book: My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout
Enjoy reading fiction? Join the library’s fiction book group led by Adult Services Librarian, Kim Rowley. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. Book groups are a wonderful way to expand your reading interests and meet others in the community.

The Role of the Honeybee in Our Environment *RR
Saturday, April 22, 2:30 pm
Join Kenneth Warchol for this narrated visual presentation.  You will travel right inside a beehive to better understand the mysterious social insect and the role that it plays in humanity’s survival on Earth.  Learn about the challenges honeybees face in our environment and find out how we can help this insect that is essential to our own survival.  Ken will bring samples of a variety of honey for everyone to taste.

Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more.  Infants through 24 months

Dads and Donutsn*RR
Saturday, April 15, 10:30 am
Dads and their kids ages two and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and more.  Moms, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome, too! Ages 2-5 and one or more adults

SAT Practice Test *RR
Saturday, April 15, 12:30-5 pm
Practice the new SAT for free! Organized through the Princeton Review, students take the entire 3 hour and 50 minute test allowing an extra 25 minutes for breaks, and then receive their scores via email.

Fairy Tale Party *RR
Tuesday, April 18, 10 am
Join us as we celebrate the wonderful world of fairy tales. We’ll read a story, play games, and make a craft. We’ll even have a special surprise guest! Kids are welcome to dress up as their favorite princess or fairy tale character. Ages 3-6

Comics Workshop! *RR
Wednesday, April 19, 1– 3 pm
Join NH artist Marek Bennett to learn how cartoonists build entire worlds and universes out of the simplest possible materials one panel at a time.  You’ll craft your own original comic, too!  Grades 4 – 8

Flea Circus *RR
Wednesday, April 19, 6:30 pm
Join us for an entire big top circus in miniature! The audience will be thrilled and amazed with Ed’s trained fleas! A few of the circus feats they do are the trapeze, high wire, high dive into a pool of water, and getting shot out of a cannon! Ages 4+

Minecraft Fun *RR
Thursday, April 20, 10 am or 11 am
Come play Minecraft with other enthusiasts.  Grades 1-5

Crafternoons: Upcycled Art *RR
Thursday, April 20, 3:45 pm
Create unique paper silhouette wall art out of vibrant rolled magazine pages. Grades 4-8

Dramatic Adventure Yoga *RR
Friday, April 21, 10 am
Dramatic Yoga is an exploration in movement and creative dramatics which celebrates the art of imagination!  Children will stretch their mind and bodies as we bring a story to life!  Join the fun dramatic yoga where poses become stories and stretching becomes an adventure!  Ages 3-6

Patriots Day
The library will be closed on Monday April 17 in observance of Patriot’s Day.

Pass to Drumlin Farm
With spring finally here, why not use our Mass Audubon Pass to visit Drumlin Farm? You and your family can enjoy seeing native wildlife and walking along the trails through the sanctuary. Pass admits four people at $2 each. Call or reserve online at  Thanks to the Wilmington Community Fund for funding this pass.
