WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TWELVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will have chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
#2) REMINDER: Tiny Tots & Kids Club registration begins Wednesday, April 12 from 5pm to 6:30pm in the Town Hall Auditorium. After this date, registration will continue weekdays in the Recreation Office and online. Dates for the two sessions are: Monday, June 26 to Friday, July 14 (No July 4) and Monday, July 17 to Thursday, August 3. Classes are held from 9am to noon at the Woburn Street School. Tiny Tots is for ages 4-5. Kids Club is for ages 6-8. This social/recreational program includes arts and crafts, games, special events, daily themes, and a field trip.
#3) DEADLINE: Today is the deadline to register to the Wilmington Summer CARES Program. Learn more HERE.
#4) The Wilmington High School Class of 2019 is holding a “Dining For A Cause” fundraiser at the Ninety Nine Restaurant (144 Lowell Street) from 4pm to 11pm. 15% of your bill will be donated to the class if you present the THIS FLYER to your server/host. The donation applies to both dine-on AND take-out orders. No coupons, discounts or promotions are accepted during the fundraiser. The class will also be holding a raffle for Boston Celtics tickets during the fundraiser.
#5) The Wilmington Board of Appeals meets at 7pm at Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.
#6) The Wilmington School Committee meets at 7pm in Wilmington High School’s Large Instruction Room. Read the agenda HERE.
#7) The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street will be open from 8am to 2pm for the drop-off of brush and leaves. Learn more HERE.
#8) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO programs today:
- Bilingual Storytime (10am-10:45am)
- Planets, Moons & Search For Alien Life (7pm)
