OBITUARY: Helen “Lun” (Casell) Walker, 82

MELROSE, MA — Helen “Lun” (Cassell) Walker passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on November 11, 2016. She was 82 years of age.

Helen was born in Malden on July 3, 1934. Helen was raised in Malden, attended Malden Schools and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years. Mrs. Walker worked at Scully Signal for 18 years in Wilmington and then in the housekeeping department at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 10 years. Lun loved dogs, cats and animals in general and was always there to care for the pets of all her family & neighbors. Helen enjoyed taking trips up to York Beach in Maine to visit her niece Debbie & family and loved to go out to eat and play Keno with all her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor, was loved dearly by all her family and neighbors and was considered a second mother to all her nieces & nephews.

Helen was the daughter of the late David & Helen Cassell. Sister of Edna Mollins of Melrose, Donald Cassell of Everett, the late Margaret “Peg” Berube & her husband Robert Berube of Melrose and the late Arlene Arenes. Former wife of the late Robert E. Walker. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 2:00-5:00PM. Funeral from Gately Funeral Home on Monday at 9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
