WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a recent game summary from Wilmington Youth Hockey:

Wilmington Pee Wee 3 vs. North Andover
Sunday, September 25, 2016
Valley Forum (Lawrence)

The WYHA Pee Wee 3 battled to a 2-2  tie Sunday afternoon against North Andover at the Valley Forum in Lawrence. After a scoreless first period, it would be Alex Burns lighting the lamp for the Wildcats early in the second. Burns buried a rebound shot from Bobby Dodge to put Wilmington up by one. Just fifteen seconds later on a great pass from Burns, Dodge would put a strong shot past the North Andover net minder giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. With some great hustle and relentless fore checking, the line of Dylan Mullarky, Brett Gallucci, and Srikar Mallajosyula, created some good scoring chances. Meanwhile, some solid defensive effort from Paige Fuller, Will LaMonica, Matt Mozuch, and Aadarssh Sivakumar, the Wildcats were able to take the 2-0 lead into the start of the third period. The N.A. Knights would not go away quietly, scoring early in the third and again several minutes later. Thomas Dalton made some great saves throughout the game in net to keep the game tight. While they did not end up on the score sheet, the forward line combination of Mike Maselli, Tyler Sheehan, and Lexi Engvaldsen all contributed to the teams effort. In some late third period action, Nicholas Spencer had a good scoring opportunity but was denied. Fuller also had a great rush up ice and a solid shot on net only to be stopped by an excellent save from the Knights goalkeeper. In the final minutes, it would be Dalton coming up big with some pressure in front of the Wildcats net. Overall the Wildcats played well in only their second game of the season!
