OBITUARY: Stephen J. Gorski, 52

WILMINGTON, MA — Stephen J. Gorski, age 52, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died August 19, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.

Stephen was born on December 2, 1963, in Stoneham, MA; he was the cherished son of Donald and Arlene Gorski. Stephen was part of a large, loving, and close knit family. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, attended Shawsheen Valley Regional Tech. High School in Billerica, and graduated with the Class of 1981. Following High School, Stephen went to work as a private contractor in the computer field and at the time of his death he was a very talented CAD designer.

Stephen or “Uncle Steve” as he was known to his family and friends was a free spirit; he enjoyed traveling and spending time at his trailer in Maine. Stephen loved Maine, its landscapes, mountains and rocky coast line. Stephen was very comfortable with nature, he had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening on his property in Maine.

Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to act goofy for his nieces, nephews and friends children. His endearing personality and willingness to help others drew people to him; his friends ranged from infants to the elderly and he just fit right in with any group. To say Stephen was a “people lover” was an understatement, he would go out of his way to help anyone and he just cherished the fact that he could make them smile; it really warmed his heart.

Stephen will be fondly remembered as always being joyful and upbeat, everyone was happy and laughing when they were around him. Stephen lit up a room wherever he went with his larger than life personality.

Stephen was a very devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many; he will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stephen was the cherished son of Donald and Arlene (Sullivan) Gorski of Wilmington, beloved brother of Sharon Marcotte & husband Jay and David Gorski & wife Kimberly all of Chelmsford, Donald Gorski and Erin Antinarelli & husband Fred all of Wilmington. Loving “Uncle Steve” of Rachel, Christopher, Kerry, Kailey, Kristina, Robert, Donnie, Alison and great-nephew Zachary. Stephen is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, August 24th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
