5 Things To Do In Wilmington Today (August 6, 2016)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Saturday, August 6, 2016.

#1)  The Wilmington-based Children’s Theatre Workshop presents Shrek: The Musical this Friday, August 5 at 7pm and Saturday, August 6 at 7pm at the Methuen High Performing Arts Center (1 Ranger Road, Methuen). Tickets cost $12 and can be purchased online HERE or at the door.  The family-friendly play features a cast of 40 kids, many from Wilmington, and promises to deliver your favorite Shrek characters and songs.

#2) TJ Callahan’s (1475 Main Street) is hosting a fundraiser for Wilmington native Danny Tanzella from 5pm to 12:30am. The event will feature live music from fantastic bands, great food,  lots of raffles and more. A $10 donation will be collected at the door. Learn more HERE.

#3) The Boston Derby Dames, a Boston-based, female-only roller derby league, returns to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) for a double-header.  Doors open at 4pm.  The double-header begins at 5pm with the the Nutcrackers vs. Wicked Pissahs, then Harbor Horrors vs. Cosmonaughties.  Tickets include admission to both games, plus entry into the Players’ After Party in the Fez Room at 9pm. Tickets are $12 (advance) and $16 (at the door) for adults; $6 (advance) and $8 (at the door) for kids (6-17); and kids under 6 are free.  Purchase your tickets HERE. #4) The Town’s Yardwaste Recycling Facility, located on Old Main Street, off of Main Street at the Woburn line, is open from 9am to 4pm. Read the rules HERE.

#5) There is a Moving Sale at 1 Rhode Island Road from 8am to 1pm. Items available for sale will include a washer and dryer, furniture, table lamps, books, gym equipment, bowling balls, woman jackets, Disney collectables, and more.
