Mr. Frank Stanley Melvin, 75, of Fryeburg, ME, formerly of Bedford, MA died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He was married to Mrs. Janet Melvin with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2015.
Frank was born in Everett MA, the son of the late Frederick and Mary Melvin. He attended Wilmington High School in Wilmington, MA.
He proudly served with the U.S. Navy.
He retired from Continental Resources of Bedford, MA in May of 2006.
Frank was a member of the American Legion, Post 101, of Woburn, MA, and the VFW of Lovell, ME. He was an avid golfer.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Frank and his wife Michele Melvin of N. Chelmsford, Scott Melvin of Bedford, MA, Todd and his wife Christine Melvin of Billerica, MA, Michael Melvin of Billerica, MA; two daughters, Ruth and her husband, Kevin Antonucci of Fryeburg, ME, and Melissa and her husband, Arthur Alexander of Billerica, MA; three brothers Bertrum and his wife, Mary Melvin of Seal Beach, CA, Frederick and his wife, Margaret Melvin of Brooksville, FL, and John Melvin of Plaistow, NH; two sisters, Ruth Gravell of Palm City, FL and Barbara Burris of Conway, NH; one sister-in-law, Mary Melvin of Brick, NJ; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Frank was the brother of the late Edward Melvin of Brick, New Jersey and William Melvin of Salem, NH.
