The Wilmington Recreation Department opened (and closed!) registration Monday morning for its popular Summer Playground Program. The six-week summer program, run weekdays from 8:30am to 1pm at the Shawsheen Elementary School, consists of arts and crafts, games, sports, special events, free play and optional field trips. The program, for students in Grades 2 through 8, costs only $170. Registration started in the Town Hall Auditorium at 7:30am, but parents began lining up outside of Town Hall hours beforehand. (Unconfirmed reports have the first parent in line at 3am!) Below are photos from parent Jen Tassone, in line at 6:45am this morning, 45 minutes before the doors opened.
