WILMINGTON, MA — Please consider taking a couple of minutes each day – from now until April 24 – and support the nine student athletes from Wilmington High School who are entered into the Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program.
To vote, go to this website, select “Massachusetts” from the drop-down, select “Wilmington High School” from the drop-down, and then click “Search.” You should see nine students listed: Zachary Abbott, Abigail Chase, James Hill, Keara MacCorkle, Nicole McIrney, Emily Montrforte, Lianna Natola, Matthew Penney and Emily Troy. Review their pages, read their brief essays, and cast your votes as you see fit. You can vote daily. While you can’t vote for the same candidate twice each day, you can vote for as many candidates as you’d like each day. (Please note: When voting the first time, you will have to register and confirm your registration via email.)
According to its website, “The Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program rewards 18 deserving high school student athletes across New England with $5,000 toward furthering their education at a two- or four-year accredited college or university… For the sixth consecutive year, we’re proud to offer $90,000 in scholarship funds to celebrate the integrity and sportsmanship of New England students as they continue their education.”
