WHS Athletic Director Ed Harrison Receives Award At State Conference

WILMINGTON, MA – Ed Harrison, now in his 12th year as Wilmington High School Athletic Director, was honored yesterday at the 40th Annual Conference of the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Directors Association (MSSADA).

Harrison received the organization’s prestigious President’s Award of Merit during a luncheon at the Hyannis Resort and Conference Center.  He was recognized for his length of service, special accomplishments, and contributions to high school athletics at the local and state levels.

Dick Baker, a MSSADA Executive Board Director and MIAA Public Relations Specialist, told Wilmington Apple:

“Ed has been an outstanding Athletic Director in both the Cape Ann League and the Middlesex League.  His nomination was due to the work he has done with promoting educational athletics will all of his students, and having coaches who are in tune with promoting our five pillars – wellness, sportsmanship, coaches education, leadership, and community service.”

Upon hearing the news via Twitter yesterday, Tewksbury High School’s Athletic Director wrote, “Congrats to Ed Harrison of Wilmington HS on his award at the MSSADA Luncheon. Class act… even though he works for our rival.  Well done!”

Congratulations to Mr. Harrison on this much deserved honor!
