WILMINGTON, MA – TONIGHT, Wilmington residents can experience a wonderful evening of music, without even having to leave town, all while supporting a great cause.
Shawsheen Tech Senior Kelly Skelton, from just over the line in Billerica, has organized a gala, featuring a concert from “Voices of Hope,” for Saturday, March 21 at 7pm in the Wilmington Middle School Auditorium (25 Carter Lane).
Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased at the door. Proceeds from this all-volunteer event will be donated to the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center.
According to the event listing, the gala will “feature a family friendly cabaret style performance featuring ‘Voices of Hope,’ with songs from Broadway, Country & Pop.” The evening will also include some gift basket raffles.
According to its website, Voices of Hope is a “registered, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with over 100 members who share a passion for the performing arts and a desire to join the fight against cancer by raising awareness and funds for cancer research.”
Kelly has a long history of raising funds for cancer research. A few years ago, Kelly was honored by the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center for his commitment to fighting against cancer, being inducted into the organization’s annual “MASS 100 at MGH” program at the age of 14.
