WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has two noteworthy fundraisers happening this month — one of interest to alumni; one of interest to current students and their parents.
The WHS PAC is currently selling commemorative 4 x 6 (postcard size) magnets of the old high school, featuring scenes from the gym, auditorium, cafeteria, library and exterior of the building. Magnets cost $3 each, with all proceeds benefiting the PAC. Orders can be emailed to pacwhs@gmail.com.
“We have sold [the magnets] at various events and will be selling them during the Community Tour of the new high school on Thursday, March 19, 3pm-8pm,” adds WHS PAC Treasurer Heather Spizuoco.
The WHS PAC is hosting an ACT Test Strategies Boot Camp, sponsored by Sylvan Learning, on Saturday, March 21, 10am-noon, at Villanova Hall. The entry fee is $10 (cash or check, to be collected at the door), with all proceeds benefiting the PAC. Registration is required. Email pacwhs@gmail.com — with the student’s name, email address and year of graduation — to register.
The event will “help students prepare for the ACT test by giving them skills, strategies and practice questions along with stress management techniques,” notes the PAC’s website. “This is the first time WHS has offered such a program so we hope you can attend and we appreciate your support!”
The WHS PAC raises funds to sponsor events throughout the year, including the High School Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and the Senior Promenade. The group also provides scholarships to graduating seniors.
