WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Pop Warner announced Monday that three of its cheerleaderes and three of its football players were named New England Pop Warner All-American Scholars last month.
Alexa Williams (8th grade) received First Team Senior Scholar honors.
Emersyn Foresyth (5th grade), Shane Penney (6th grade), Shane Roberts (6th grade), Stephen Smolinsky (6th grade), and Gianna Zaccagini (8th grade) received Second Team Scholar honors.
According to the New England Pop Warner’s website, these six Wilmington student athletes — all with a 96% GPA or higher — will be invited to attend the 19th Annual New England Pop Warner Scholar Weekend, April 17 and April 18, at Patriot’s Place in Foxboro.
“We are fortunate to have many smart and talented athletes in our program,” read the Wilmington Pop Warner’s Facebook announcement. “Keep up the good work!”

If you haven’t registered yet, circle this date on your calendar and avoid the $25 late fee!
Children 7 (as of July 31) to 15 years of age are eligible to participate in Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading.
Children 5, 6, or 7 (after July 31) years of age are eligible to participate in Pop Warner’s increasingly popular Flag Football and Cheerleading program.
All the necessary registration forms and handouts can be found HERE. It’s important to note that even if you’ve already paid online, you must submit your paperwork at the registration drive. Football participants that have paid online must also be weighed in on this date.
