Lacrosse Loft Opens in Wilmington, Provides Local Option To Lacrosse Families

WILMINGTON, MA — Lacrosse has been the fastest growing youth sport in Wilmington over the past ten years.  And now players and families finally have a shop – in town – that can take care of their lacrosse needs.

Lacrosse Loft, located on the third floor of Cooke’s Skate Supply at 446 Main Street, celebrated its Grand Opening on Sunday, March 1, with four hours of giveaways, raffles and a visit from the street team for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse.

Owner Dan Sullivan, a Wilmington resident and longtime hockey coach, explained that he wanted to provide lacrosse families with the same level of individualized customer service, knowledgeable staff and quality apparel and equipment that hockey families were accustomed to getting from Cooke’s.

“After years of sitting at practices, games and tournaments, we listened and empathized with parents, players and coaches who always wished there was more specialized and intimate place where people could get the service and individual attention that lacks at the box stores and franchise chains.”

According to Sullivan, the store provides men’s box and field equipment, women’s equipment, team and individual apparel, custom made goalie thumbs, re-palming of gloves, and repairs of all equipment.

The Lacrosse Loft is unique from the chain stores in that it features professional custom stringing.  Sullivan explained how players can choose their stick, mesh and string, and then staff will design a pocket specifically for their style of play.
