CHELMSFORD, MA — Nancy J. Hemond, 75, of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Hemond, whom she married in July of 1976. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with love, happiness, and cherished memories.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Nancy was the daughter of the late Gus and Catherine Doris (Mungovan) Leary. She was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1968.
Throughout her working years, Nancy was employed at Wilmington Ford prior to moving on to Digital, while also working at The Meadow Lounge, before retiring from Jabil.
Nancy enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout her life. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts, loved playing darts, riding horses, building dollhouses, and collecting baseball cards. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing laughter and good company while playing Bingo and PC games. Nancy loved animals, having had many dogs and cats throughout the years and feeding “her birds & squirrels”. Above all else, Nancy found her greatest happiness in the time she spent with her son and granddaughter, who were the center of her world.
Nancy leaves behind her loving son, Jared Hemond, of N. Chelmsford; her cherished granddaughter, Lilly; siblings, Justine, Kevin, Victor, Sean, Susan; and several nieces and nephews, who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
In addition to her beloved husband, Joseph, Nancy was predeceased by her son, Jeremey Hemond, and her siblings, Jack, Donald, Gerry “Bud”, Janet & Sandra Leary.
Nancy will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the friendships she treasured, and the simple joys that brought happiness to her life. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Nancy J. Hemond, of North Chelmsford, MA died Saturday, October 17, 2026. Visitation will be on November 7, 2026 from 10 AM to 11AM at Dolan Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow @11:00 AM.
