Tewksbury & Wilmington Girl Scouts Earn Bronze & Silver Awards

Below is a press release from the Baldwin Girl Scouts:

WILMINGTON, MA — The Baldwin Girl Scouts (Tewksbury & Wilmington) are proud to share that 24 Girl Scouts have earned the Bronze Award and 10 Girl Scouts have earned the Silver Award this fall. The Bronze Award is the highest award available for Girl Scout Juniors and the Silver Award is the highest award available for Girl Scout Cadettes. Congratulations to all our Scouts for amazing work done making their communities better places for all.

Girl Scouts from Troop #83443 (Wilmington) completed two projects.

Clean & Green Wilmington organized a community clean up to help remove trash from the environment. They then educated the community about good trash and recycling practices at the Wilmington Farmers Market. Congratulations to Adeline A, Claire B, Claire D, Serena M, and Kristel M on earning your Bronze Award.

Pollinator Pathway focused on the creation of a pollinator garden in Wilmington. The Girl Scouts planted and cared for the garden, educating their community on why pollinators are so important to our ecosystem. Congratulations to Angelina C, Emmie F, Serfina G, Cameron H, Siena M, Anya M, Terry R, and Maggie S on earning your Bronze Award.

Girl Scouts in Troop #82424 (Tewksbury) created a website and pamphlet called Pawsitively Perfect to help prospective pet owners learn what type of dog might be right for them. They created a quiz that included questions about what type of home you have, what your lifestyle is like and what type of dog traits you might want to help narrow down the list of possible dogs that may be a good fit. Congratulations to Riannie L and Nina S on earning your Bronze Award.

Girl Scouts in Troop #82083 (Tewksbury) completed four different projects for their Silver Awards.

Monofilament Recycling Tubes educated the community about how to protect the environment by recycling the monofilament used in fishing by creating an educational video, sharing at the Tewksbury Community Market, and installing two monofilament recycling centers at local fishing spots. Congratulations to Allie C on earning your Silver Award.

Project Pollinators installed a pollinator preservation garden at the Wynn Middle School in Tewksbury. They designed and planted a 24-by-30-foot native garden that is now part of the national Pollinator Pathway initiative. As the garden matures, it will help strengthen local biodiversity while serving as an educational resource for the school community. Congratulations to Camryn D and Claire P on earning your Silver Award.

The Helping House project worked to provide free hygiene products to individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship. Resembling a Little Free Library, the Helping House, located outside the House of Mercy homeless shelter in Lawrence, is stocked with essentials such as shampoo, toothpaste, bandages, and hair care items. Congratulations to Natalie Zoss and Taylor Rich on earning your Silver Award.

Digital Detox created an interactive resource binder that includes no-bake recipes, crafts, games, and family-friendly activities designed to encourage meaningful, screen-free engagement. The binder is now available at the Stevens Memorial Library in Andover, where both Scouts reside, in the children’s room for families to explore. Congratulations to Amanda B and Meghan S on earning your Silver Award.

Finally Girl Scouts in Troop #82083 and #82424 researched and built a slingshot range for Camp Runels, an overnight Girl Scout camp in New Hampshire. Their goal was to provide an activity that was accessible to our youngest Girl Scouts at camp who may not be able to participate in archery. The Girl Scouts also created documentation about building the range, safe usage of the range and training for camp staff. Congratulations to Addison C, Addison H and Anna L on earning your Silver Award.
