TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Forest Street To Be Closed 7AM-4PM, Monday-Friday This Week

Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Department of Public Works:

WILMINGTON, MA — Please be advised that the Town’s Contractor, Biszko Contracting Corp., will be mobilizing on Monday, October 26th to complete remaining work items and permanently pave the water trenches associated with the water main rehabilitation project. The Contractor anticipates this work to be completed on Friday, October 30th.

During this time, Forest Street will be open to area residents only (and closed to transient traffic) from the hours of 7am – 4pm. The same detour plan that was utilized while the project was active over the summer will be reinstated. The Town has decided to implement this restriction during work hours for the safety of residents and working crews.

Area residents, emergency vehicles, school buses, and trash trucks will still have access to Forest Street as needed. The Town’s Contractor has confirmed that accommodation for access will be made, as necessary.

Short delays and detours are to be expected; We ask that everyone obeys the directives of the police details and traffic signage during construction. Below this notification is a graphic that displays the detours associated with this road closure.

Should there be any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the upcoming work or the traffic control message provided above, please do not hesitate to contact the Engineering Division at 978-658-4499 or the Wilmington DPW administration office at 978-658-4481.

Thank you for your patience and attention to this matter.
