WOBURN, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that the New Boston Street Bridge opened on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at noon.
Temporary lane closures will be implemented as needed to complete remaining utility work associated with the project. Businesses and residents will continue to have full access to their properties.
This work is being conducted as part of a $23.6 million project to construct the New Boston Street Bridge over the MBTA’s Lowell Commuter Rail Line in Woburn.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advance message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
