Wilmington Cultural Council Now Accepting Grant Applications Through October 15; Applicant Forum Set For September 10

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Cultural Council (WCC) is seeking proposals for Cultural Council grant funds for FY2027 which began September 1, 2026. Grant applications may be submitted for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs for the town of Wilmington.

The Mass Cultural Council has set an October 15, 2026 application deadline for organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants and no late applications will be accepted.

According to the Wilmington Cultural Council, these grants support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Wilmington, MA, including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, performances in schools, workshops, lectures, murals and more.

This year the Mass Cultural Council granted Wilmington $11,100 to support the arts, sciences and humanities in Wilmington. In the last few years the WCC has funded projects that include: The Wilmington Public Library Summer Reading activities and multiple Senior Center speaking and music events.

The Wilmington Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The Mass Cultural Council Program is the nation’s largest grassroots cultural funding network, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency that allocates funds to each community.

Join us for our Applicant Forum! If you have never applied for a Wilmington Cultural Council grant before or you want a refresher on how to submit your grant application, the Wilmington Cultural Council will be hosting an Applicant Forum kick-off event on  Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 6 pm in the Great Hall in Wilmington Town Hall.

At the kick-off you’ll learn:

— Who can apply and what types of projects qualify for grants

— How the application process works

— How grant funds can be used

— Tips for creating a strong application

— Answers to your questions during a Q&A with Cultural Council members
