WILMINGTON, MA — Kristina Giovanna Murphy, 28, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kristina was born on February 6, 1998, the beloved daughter of Michael and Cynthia Murphy. From the very beginning, she was a girl who couldn’t be summed up in a single word. She was beautiful, yes, anyone who met her would tell you that, but the beauty that mattered most to the people who loved her lived on the inside. Kristina gave her heart away freely and completely. She found her own happiness in the happiness of others, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she adored them without reservation.
She was also, unmistakably, a performer. Kristina had real talent as an actress and singer, and she dreamed of a life in entertainment and modeling. She had the kind of presence that made a room take notice: confident, magnetic, and entirely her own. A devoted horror movie fan, Kristina was thrilled to have been selected for a guest appearance in an upcoming Terrifier film. Tragically, she passed away before she had the opportunity to take part. Still, being chosen for a place in a film franchise from a genre she genuinely loved was an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of and a perfect reflection of her spirited, adventurous nature.
But Kristina was never content to be just one thing. In recent months, a new calling had begun to take shape in her. Watching the extraordinary care given to her brother during his illness left a deep impression on her, and she began pursuing a path into healthcare, hoping one day to offer others that same compassion. It was, in many ways, the truest expression of who she was: a young woman with an enormous heart still discovering all the ways she could use it.
Kristina’s laugh was legendary. It filled rooms and pulled everyone in them along for the ride. She loved being with her friends, singing, performing, and simply savoring the people in her life. Her circle of friends was wide, and every one of them would tell you she wasn’t just fun to be around. She was a fiercely loyal friend, through and through.
No bond meant more to Kristina than the one she shared with her brother, Michael “Mikey” Murphy. His passing earlier this year left a wound in her, and in the whole Murphy family, that words can’t fully hold. Theirs was a love that endured even through that heartbreak, and there is real comfort now in believing brother and sister are together again.
Kristina also shared a long and deeply meaningful relationship with her boyfriend, Mike Caruso. Over six years together, theirs was a love that weathered its share of storms. They found their way back to each other more than once, but through it all, what they felt for each other never wavered. Mike held an irreplaceable place in her heart.
And then there were her animals: her cats, Prince and Mia, and her dogs, Bluey, Rocky, and Kilo, each one loved without limit. They were family to her, and caring for them was just one more way her tender heart showed itself.
Kristina leaves her parents, Michael Murphy and Cynthia Partridge ; her siblings, Mark DiLorenzo of Dudley, Stephanie DiLorenzo of Wilmington, and Patrick Murphy of Florida; her boyfriend of six years, Mike Caruso; her niece, Sophia Noellia Osores; her nephew, Tyler Murphy; her cherished “Papa,” Paul Nedza of Waltham; and her step-grandmother, Janice Murphy of Wilmington. She also leaves her beloved cats, Prince and Mia; her dogs, Bluey and Rocky; and a wide and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will carry a piece of her with them always.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Michael Murphy Sr. and Concetta (Quaranto) Murphy, and Richard D. Partridge Jr. and Gail (Phelan) Partridge; by her grandmother, Connie Nedza; and by her cherished brother, Michael “Mikey” Murphy, whose loss left the deepest kind of void in her heart.
Twenty-eight years were never going to be enough for a young woman with so much left to give, to experience, and to become. Kristina was an actress and a singer, an aspiring model and a future healthcare professional. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, girlfriend, and friend, and an unapologetic horror movie fan. She was glamorous and compassionate, funny and tender-hearted, ambitious and endlessly devoted to the people she loved, every piece of her adding up to someone entirely, wonderfully her own.
Her family and friends will miss her beautiful smile and, perhaps most of all, her unforgettable laugh. They will miss the way her laughter could change the whole feeling of a room. They will miss her generosity, her talent, her big dreams, and simply the privilege of having known and loved her.
She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Kristina on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mary Catherine Chapel of the Brasco Family Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, Massachusetts. A Memorial Service celebrating Kristina’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.
