THIS WEEKEND: Wilmington’s Grace Chapel To Host Free Back To School Bash & Kids Shoe Giveaway On August 29

WILMINGTON, MA — Families and neighbors across Greater Boston are invited to an afternoon of free, kid-friendly fun at the Back to School Bash, hosted by Grace Chapel, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm. The event features carnival-themed games and activities, food and treats, and a free kids shoe giveaway to help families gear up for the fall semester.

The Back to School Bash is entirely free to the public with no registration required and will be hosted simultaneously across Grace Chapel’s four campuses in Lexington, Wilmington, Watertown, and Foxboro.

Thanks to donations from the Grace Chapel community, the church will be giving away 1,825 pairs of new shoes to children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. The shoes will be distributed across all four campuses on a first-come, first-served basis, and children must be present to receive their pair. Families will receive a pair of shoes for each elementary-aged child in their family.

Each of the Grace campuses have put together a fun-filled lineup for families with all kinds of games, crafts, and activities.

Families can attend the Back to School Bash at the Grace Chapel location that works best for them. The Back to School Bash will take place at:

  • Lexington Campus: 59 Worthen Rd, Lexington, MA 02421
  • Wilmington Campus: 128 West St, Wilmington, MA 01887
  • Watertown Campus: 525 Main St, Watertown, MA 02472
  • Foxboro Campus: 115 Mechanic St, Foxboro, MA 02035
