WILMINGTON, MA — Lois M. (Newell) Horak, age 86, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026.
Lois was born on October 20, 1939, in Malden, MA. She was the cherished daughter of the late Alfred P. and Grace (Griffiths) Newell.
Lois was the loving mother of Kathleen M. Horak and John P. Horak and his wife, Dawn, all of Wilmington. She was the proud “Nana” of Michael Horak and Victoria Horak, and the adoring great-grandmother of her only great-grandchild, Serenity Horak.
Lois was the dear sister of Audrey Perry and her husband, Bill; Rose Mary Newell and her husband, Bill; Margaret Stoodley and her husband, Tim; and Peter Newell. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marcia Tamasi and Carol Sprague. Lois is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, August 22nd, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m.
